PUPILS

In most regions around the world, the vast majority of children go to school. There remain however, huge discrepancies between the quality of the school environment and teaching depending on the region in which the school is located, and the social background of pupils’ parents. We support civic and social initiatives which aim to improve the school environment, by for example, renovating school buildings, offering teachers further training, distributing school equipment, or by establishing refuges or libraries. Whenever we support a school, we also support a group of selected pupils. We also use follow-up projects to increase the quality of the relevant schools in the long-term and use these as regional examples. In secondary schools, we support pupils’ efforts to learn foreign languages and orientate themselves towards further study and/or work.
