When it comes to opportunities for work and study, students from disadvantaged backgrounds have access to much less information than students from more advantaged backgrounds. Disadvantaged students face significant obstacles including a lesser propensity to read, difficulties searching for work and evaluating information, as well as a lesser general level of education. As a result, students have a worsened perception of their environment, which damages social communication and their personal progression. In order to reduce these obstacles, we organise adventure trips and trips abroad, provide foreign language courses and workshops focusing on personal development. Our mentors, tutors and coaches accompany students as they become increasingly aware of their own weaknesses and draw on their strengths. After three years, students become more autonomous. We continue to support them for a further two years however, as they become more secure in employment.
