STUDENT HELP DESK

The Idea
A critical difference between young people from families in which other family members have studied, and young people from families in which family members have not studied, is their understanding of how to achieve educational and professional goals. The Student Help Desk is intended to reduce this information asymmetry via the provision of three services. The Student Help Desk provides information online, and in face-to-face meetings, to help orientate young people. Young people can access specific types of support i.e. coaching before an entrance exam, private tuition, or funding to cover transport costs to attend interviews. The Student Help Desk accompanies selected female students as they enter the world of work, from the first year of study to securing a job.
